People aims at improving people’s quality of life by supporting the development
of locally sustainable drinking water resources, sanitation facilities, and
health and hygiene education programs. Water For People currently operates in
10 countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia. Currently, Water For People
Uganda works in partnership with Local Governments western and eastern Uganda
and is expanding operations in other districts yet to expand.
officer will manage our WASH everyone forever programme in Kamwenge District
and at National level for the Water For People.
- Technically support the design and
implementation of baseline/midline/and other surveys and gathering
information for reporting and periodic updates using the FLOW (Field Level
Operations Watch) methodology. - Mentor and train Water for People Uganda
staff and partners on the use of M & E tools; - Prepare bi-annual and annual reports and
produce a synthetic and analytical progress report to guide management
decision-making - Work alongside the implementing partners
to review their existing approaches and management information systems. - Train, guide staff and implementing
partners in preparing their progress reports. Together, analyse these
reports. - Prepare consolidated progress reports for
programme management. - Develop, Design and administer an online
M&E database, streamline it, accessible and relevant across all Water
for People operations. - Offer technical support and data for the
M&E component of grant proposal development. - Stay abreast with the latest developments
in M&E and network with other organizations for best practices and
technical assistance. - Responsible for WASH programme
implementation in Kamwenge - Coordinate all WASH Everyone Forever
software activities, maintaining regular contact with all stakeholders - Technically support the Implementation of
Community and School sanitation and hygiene education programmes - Advocacy of the program at both district
level - Ensure that good learning relationships
and effective communication channels are developed between the different
stakeholders in the Everyone forever alliance - Offer technical proficiency in developing
water and sanitation programmes in Uganda and develop systems which
improve the sector. - Identify needs, opportunities, gaps, and
constraints in potential water and sanitation programmes and provide
mentoring and support to the District Local governments. - Mobilise and engage with local government
to understand and if necessary improve the regulatory operating
environment for water businesses.
Experience:
- The applicant should possess a bachelor’s Degree
in Development studies, Social Work and Social administration, Business
administration, Public Health. Additional Post graduate qualification in
Monitoring and Evaluation and Master’s degree will be an added advantage. - At least two to five years’ experience directly
related experience in WASH - Promoting market based approaches, data
collection, leading reseat teams and conducting surveys with private
sector, able to speak or understand Rutoro/Runyakitara. - Exhibit demonstrated success in managing a
team of innovators, understanding of how business works, and how
entrepreneurs make decisions, have a passion for advocacy, able to work under
tight deadlines and have excellent follow through skills. - Be a self-starter and work with limited
supervision, good communicator at all levels. - Good working knowledge of the Water and
sanitation sector is preferable.
