Non-profit Careers – Manager, Seed Marketing at BRAC

BRAC, one of the largest
Non-Governmental Development Organization in the world, working in a number of
countries in Africa and Asia on poverty alleviation Programs, is registered in
Uganda as BRAC Uganda. The organization implements integrated development
approach combining Education, Health, Agriculture, Livestock, Adolescent
Empowerment, and Microfinance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Planning,
    organizing, assessing seed demand and monitoring the sales activities.
  • In
    charge of distribution of seed and other inputs in the channel.
  • Working
    in liaison with Sales Officer/ Regional Coordinator for smooth sales
    operation of the products and recovery.
  • Organizing
    regional meeting/ workshop with dealers/ agents/ staff
  • Maintaining
    liaison with Government, private seed company/ seed association
  • Establishing
    assessable reporting system based on sales, recovery, market development
    and opportunity, staff situation in the cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Preparing
    yearly sales budget and relevant strategies to fulfill the budget.
  • Preparing
    promotional materials and distribute to dealer/agent/ others
  • Collecting
    feedback from field about the quality of inputs and performance of seeds
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate should hold a second upper division/ (CGPA 3 out of 4 in
    all academic examination) in the area of Ms/Msc in Agriculture or any
    other related discipline from a reputable university
  • At
    least ten years’ experience in such related field.
  • Excellent
    communication skills, team work and ability to deal with related
    stakeholders and cultural issues.
  • Strong
    oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Possess
    the ability to handle any raised situation
  • Possess
    the ability to counsel and motivate skill; intent to build up capacity of
    the staff.
  • Possess
    the ability to work under pressure and independently in line with organization’s
    strategic goals
