Coordinator
development organisation with membership to SOS Children’s Villages
International, a worldwide child care organisation that provides children who
have lost parental care, and those at risk of losing parental care with a
permanent home and educational opportunities. Established 60 years ago, SOS
Children’s Villages International currently runs Children’s Villages and other
projects in 135 countries around the world. We run two major programmes i.e
Family Based Care based at SOS Children’s Villages and Family Strengthening
Programmes supporting families in local communities. SOS has been working in
Uganda since 1991, and runs Children’s Villages and other projects at Kakiri,
Entebbe (Abaita Ababiri), Gulu and in Fort Portal – Kabarole district. SOS Uganda
subscribes to a child protection policy.
will provide support to the Human Resource function/department by performing a
variety of administrative duties in the day to day responsibilities of the
department.
- Regularly update staff personnel files,
computer based/automated archive of staff data at the SOS National Office,
ensuring that all required documents are in place. - Produce adequate records of employment
documentation e.g. position offers, appointment letters, contracts and job
descriptions ensuring that they are provided in time based on established
staff employment policies and procedures. - Monitor and inspect staff files to ensure
adequate documentation and filling of individual staff communications. - Oversee the recruitment documentation and
process including scheduling interviews for positions to be interviewed. - Conducts accurate compilation of paper
work once applicant is offered a job ensuring that all required documents
(SOS application form, beneficiary form, medical certificate, passport
photos and account details) are filled and provided. - Develop and coordinate orientation
programs for new and continuing staff. - Monitor and record submission of
performance appraisals and individual work plans at National Office
ensuring that yearly performance appraisal is conducted for all staff. - Responsible for Leave administration;
ensure that all staff duly comply with SOS Children’s Villages leave
requirements
Experience:
- The candidate should ideally possess a
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a post graduate
qualification in Human Resource Management. - At least two years’ experience in HR
Management role preferably in an NGO setting. - Past exposure and experience in office
management with good understanding of key HR practices and procedures. - Excellent planning and organisational
skills with keen attention to detail. - Excellent
interpersonal skills - Possess the ability to initiate good team
understanding and people management - Good practical knowledge of commonly used
computer software (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power point) with strong written
and oral communications skills
