Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Architect,
build, test and refine new products and services - Develop
and expand infrastructure to process many millions of page views and transactions
with fault tolerance and predictability - Be
ready to tackle a wide variety of unique coding problems and find creative
solutions - Brainstorm
and prototype new concepts and approaches fast. Turn prototypes into real
things - Intuitively
diagnose and solve performance issues whenever the occur - Be
a team player in a flat-structured, highly collaborative environment - Communicate
and document effectively to ensure proper awareness throughout the
business - Train
and mentor more junior members of the team (backend interns and other
members of the team that concentrate on areas outside of the backend) - Work
in close liaison with cross functional teams including product management,
product marketing and members of the management team
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or
similar technical degree required - At
least five years’ professional programming experience in Java required - The
ideal candidate should have a fast and nimble mind. We only look for A+
players so be prepared to be challenged. - Ambitious,
driven, and talented individual who wants to work on significant,
game-changing problems. - Possess
the ability to design and write well-structured, easily maintainable,
well-documented code that balances beauty and pragmatism. - Excellent
track record building distributed, clustered, high-throughput applications
that can really scale - Demonstrable
knowledge of Javascript and CSS (preferably leveraging AngularJS) - Solid
SQL and NoSQL skills, preferable with MySQL and MongoDB - Possess
the ability to create well-designed API’s - Experience
with user-centered interaction design - Highly
proficient in both Linux (production) and Mac OSX (development)
environments preferred - Familiarity
with Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, EBS, etc.) preferred
