Officer will guide Centenary Bank by offering legal advice, prepare and review
legal documents and represent the bank in legal matters in accordance with the
law and bank policy.
- Regularly review documentation of approved
credit facilities from branches for credit above the branch disbursement limit and confirm
perfection for recommendation for disbursement in line with departmental
guidelines and Bank policy and the law. - Review and compute duty and fees payable
on registrable securities, ensure timely registration or dispatch of
securities to external advocates for registration of Bank charges, follow
up for timely return thereof and advise on the advocates performance
against their service level agreements. - Carry out legal search and advise on
likely effect of draft bills and new legislation on the banking and credit
operations - Prepare and maintain the department
registers of securities received from the branches for
perfection/registration as the case maybe in accordance with departmental
guidelines. - Draw and prepare security documentation
for some loans and advances upon instruction in line with departmental
procedures, the law and Bank policy. - Upon instruction draw agreements and
contracts in accordance with the law and Bank policy.
Experience:
- The prospective Bank employee should hold
an Honors Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized university - Be an enrolled advocate of the High Court
- The applicant should also possess two
years’ post qualification experience preferably in a financial
institution, established law firm or reputable commercial organisation - Excellent interpersonal and communication
