Responsibilities:
- Develop the UIRI Institute’s Financial
Manual - Timely preparation of periodic output
reports to guide departmental and management decision making. - Actively participate fully in UIRI budget
preparation process - Responsible for the facilitation of the
costing of the institute services including the review of the existing
services. - Participate in Budget preparation,
implementation, monitoring and reporting. - Compilation and distribution of weekly and
monthly analytical reports on selected activities and making
recommendations for improvement. - Carrying out monthly, quarterly and annual
monitoring and analysis of departmental performance in relation to
targets/ budgets so as to guide decision making. - Reviewing monthly bank reconciliations.
- Evaluation of proposals for improvement,
new activities and systems to ensure that only viable activities are
implemented. - Management of asset register.
- Preparation and analysis for accuracy and
timeliness of the releases, expenditure, balance sheet position and weekly
cash flows for Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba (UIPK) and UIRI
projects.
Experience:
- The Senior Accountant must possess a
master’s degree from a recognized university in any of the following: COM,
Business Administration with Accounting/ Finance major. - Professional qualification in accounting
like CPA, ACCA or any other accountancy professional body is an added
advantage. - At least five years’ experience on a
related job preferably in Government. - An excellent team leader with excellent
interpersonal skills. - Excellent analytical and report writing
skills. - Excellent computer literacy skills in MS
Office suite. - Possess the ability to meet strict
deadlines.
