Our Client, Afrimax is a newly launched ISP offering quality 4G
wireless broadband Internet services to companies and households in Kampala.
Afrimax seeks to recruit a suitable and highly motivated candidate to fill the
vacancy above.
Job Summary: The Head of
Sales will be responsible for managing the entire sales and distribution team.
The desired candidate will ensure that the team meets its KPIs and the required
standards and measures, so as to meet the set goals. The successful candidate
will be someone with a proven record of achieving and exceeding stretch sales
targets in either a B2B or B2C environment. The main objectives of this job is
to grow the subscriber base and to analyze market trends with a view to
identifying additional sales and distribution opportunities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Responsible for the establishment of
    annual, quarterly and monthly sales targets in coordination with the
    Company’s business plan
  • In charge of providing an annual Sales
    Plan and providing quarterly updates, and revisions to the business plan
  • Develop new strategies, tactics and plans
    for future growth of the Company’s subscriber base in consultation with
    Marketing team
  • Generate reports based on facts to be
    presented before the senior managers, and shareholders
  • Represent the company’s business policies
    in various conferences, trade fairs, and networking events to attract more
    and more subscribers
  • Coordinate the sales operations with all
    the other departments in the company
  • Establish performance goals for direct
    reports
  • Continuously motivate the sales team and
    inspire them to stay focused on the Company’s goals
  • Develop and execute the strategic plan to
    achieve sales targets and to expand the Company’s customer base
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting
    customer relationships, focusing on key-accounts
  • Effectively communicate the company’s
    value proposition through proposals and presentations
  • Understand category-specific landscapes
    and trends, reporting on the forces that shift tactical budgets and
    strategic direction of accounts
  • Plan and coordinate execution of all
    internal and external sales events including sales campaigns, account
    reviews, activations and daily, monthly and annual sales meetings
  • Manage all distribution and sales relevant
    logistics processes e.g. ensuring device and SIM card minimum stock levels
    are maintained and the product flow from customs to main warehouse to
    sub-warehouses is properly monitored
  • Collate and ensure accurate and timely
    submission of Sales reports and other intelligence essential to the sales
    function. Recommend revisions to existing reports or new report
    requirements as may be appropriate
  • Maintain the Afrimax brand in all
    communications, both internal and external
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The Head of Sales should ideally hold a
    bachelor’s degree in a business related course
  • Candidates with an MBA will be preferred
  • At least five years’ experience in a
    managerial position
  • Past exposure and experience in managing a
    large sales team in multi-channels
  • Experience working in the
    telecommunication industry or any FMCG firm will be an added advantage
  • Excellent people-management, motivation
    and team building skills
  • Excellent written and oral English
    language skills
  • Highly proficient in all MS Office
    applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • High passion for selling
  • Possess the willingness to work long hours
    as and when required
  • Self-driven with the ability to motivate
    subordinates
  • Customer and service oriented skills
