ACTED’s vocation is to save lives, assist vulnerable dialogue as well as cultural promotion. For its programs in Northern Uganda, Karamoja and Kampala, ACTED is looking populations and bring hope to those in need for a better future. ACTED is active in 20 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Central America and develops about 150 projects yearly in diversified activities such as emergency relief, food security, economic development, health promotion, education, microfinance, regional dialogue, institutional support as well as cultural promotion.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The Area Finance and Administration Officer will support ACTED activities across Karamoja.
  • Responsible for the accountability in the whole Karamoja  region,
  • Also, s/he will supervise the field based cashier/administrator. With respect to ACTED financial and administrative procedures
  • The job holder must ensure that all expenses are properly allocated and s/he will be in charge of the administration management in the area: preparation of the payroll, premises contract follow up, staff IDs and medical insurance.
  • Finally, s/he will deal with the Program team in order to ensure that the expenditure of the project remain within the available budget;
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Area Finance and Administration Officer must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Development studies, B.COM-(Option Accounting), or any other relevant fields.
  • Professional qualification in CPA, ACCA, and ICSA is an added advantage.
  • Three or more years’ experience in Administration and Finance activities Experience in Managerial positions is an added advantage.
  • Possess the ability to work in a complex environment, with short deadline
  • Excellent communication skills (both spoken and written) and ability to work closely with the community.
  • High degree of flexibility and adaptability
  • The ideal candidates should exhibit high professionalism and confidence
  • Also be highly self-motivated, experienced and committed team players
  • Preferably, the candidates should be resident in the areas of the indicated duty stations
  • The person should be willing to travel within the region more than 30% of the time.
