Relations
was established to implement the provisions of The UCC Act 2013 Laws of Uganda
with a principal goal of developing a modern communications sub-sector and
Infrastructure in Uganda, in conformity with the operationalization of the
Telecommunications Policy.

- Routinely
compile data and write briefs on the respective areas of discussion in
which UCC is engaging or has an interest; - Enthusiastically
research and report on positions of other countries on subjects of
interest to UCC; - Coordinate
the planning, organising and conduct of all foreign functions hosted by
UCC locally or abroad; - Implement
the Unit’s programs, furthering the international interests of UCC abroad; - Facilitate
the advocacy of Uganda’s positions in other countries, through filings,
letters and coordination and active participation in bilateral and
multilateral dialogues; - Facilitate
the coordination of UCC’s participation in foreign events including
meetings and conferences; - Manage
international events, projects and visits as designated; - Monitor
discussion issues of interests in the various forums and brief the Head of
unit accordingly; - Assist in
the creation of strategic international partnerships, and; - Perform any
other tasks as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
- The
applicant must possess a Masters’ Degree in International Relations; - Additionally,
he /s he should also hold a good Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised
Institute or University biased towards international relations,
communications or public relations. - At least
four years’ experience in international relations is required; - Excellent
project management and organisational skills; and - International
communication skills with high levels of diplomacy and presentation
skills. - High
degree of flexibility and adaptable
to a dynamic working environment; - Possess
the ability to work independently in a dependable manner; and - Strong
analytical skills.
