emergency due to the refugee influx from south Sudan in Arua and Adjumani.
Job Summary: The Gender and Protection Officer will
take lead in and support Oxfam partners in implementing gender, HIV Aids and
conflict sensitive emergency programmes for targeted refugees from South Sudan
and their host communities in Adjumani and Arua districts.
Key Duties &
Responsibilities:
  • Focus on
    main streaming gender, conflict sensitivity, HIV/Aids, women rights, and
    health in the emergency response.
  • Works
    closely with the WASH and EFSVL teams and with the MEAL team.
Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:
  • The Emergency
    Gender and Protection Officer should possess a good University Degree in
    development studies, social sciences, social work or relevant field
  • At least
    two to four years’ experience in an International NGO (INGO) environment, including experience
    of implementing programs for children & women in emergencies
  • Comprehensive
    understanding and knowledge in application of do no harm, conflict
    sensitivity principles, Sphere and ICRC standards and ethics for
    protection work
  • Good
    understanding of protection and refugee issues related to conflict
    including some basic human rights and refugee
