Foundation (AHF)
international not for profit NGO, with its Headquarters based in Los Angeles
California, and is the largest community-based provider of HIV treatment and
care services in the United States of America. AHF registered in Uganda as
AHF-Uganda Cares, is collaboration between the Ministry of Health and AIDS
Healthcare Foundation (U.S.A) to provide free HIV/AIDS services; including
antiretroviral therapy in resource constrained settings. AHF- Uganda Cares to-date
operates in 15 districts including; Masaka, Kampala, Rakai, Mpigi, Lyantonde,
Soroti ,Lwengo, Bukomansimbi, Kalungu, Amuria, Butambala, Gomba ,Serere, Hoima
and Tororo and supporting 21 clinic sites country wide.
- Coordinates
personal computer hardware and software troubleshooting, installation,
repair, problem diagnosis, and implementation. - Offers
support in the processes, by which requests and inquiries related to
computing, local area networks, wide area networks, host systems
communications are received, screened, prioritized, and resolved. - Installs,
tests, and maintains a variety of computers and network hardware and
software systems; performs diagnostic tests, modifies or repairs hardware
to the board or component level; - Collects and
records appropriate data related to these functions. - Maintains
a high level of personal computer knowledge and assists in the
recommendation processes for computing hardware, software systems. - Complies
with all standards, procedures, controls, and policies as established by
the Information Technology department. - Ensures
that a complete IT inventory of supplies and parts are maintained and that
all shortages are ordered in a timely manner. Keeps inventory and log of
hardware/software. - Possess
the ability to notify and escalate to proper IT groups to resolve
incidents/ request. - Handles
problem resolution, research, isolation and follow-up for routine user
problems, referring more complex problems to supervisor. - The IT
Desktop Support Officer loads specified software packages particularly
operating systems, spreadsheets, word processing onto AHF computers.
- The job
holder must possess a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT),
Computer Science or related fields. - Two or
more years’ or relevant IT experience with additional training. - Two or
more years’ experience in IT technical support with exceptional software
and hardware support in a user oriented environment. - Prior
exposure to hardware which must include Windows / DOS systems, printers,
scanners, modems, peripherals and terminals / equipment.
