Job Summary: The Logistics Assistant will support the Senior Logistics Officer in the overall country logistics and procurement operation providing support to DRC field operations and field based staff in training, guidance and standard operating procedures as set by the DRC.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· The Logistics Assistant will use the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) Manual guidelines; procure, obtain quotations and conduct all logistics related tasks as instructed by the Logistician, Programme Managers and project managers.
· Organize vehicle and equipment maintenance/repair schedule and ensure services to the vehicle fleet/equipment are obtained at value for money at all times.
· Rigorously monitor fuel consumption for vehicle fleet / motorcycles/generators through ensuring weekly calculations of fuel consumption.
· Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Logistics Officer.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· The prospective Danish Refugee Council Logistics Assistant should ideally hold a bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Procurement.
· At least three years’ working experience, preferably an international NGO (INGO) setting.
· A strong team player with good interpersonal communication skills.
· Strong financial, planning and budget management skills and experience.
