Job Summary: The Civil Engineer will be responsible for
undertaking complex projects and assisting in providing direction to
engineering staff.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Discussing requirements with the client
and other professionals (e.g. architects) - Analyzing survey, mapping and
materials-testing data with computer modelling software - Drawing up blueprints, using computer
aided design (cad) packages - Judging whether projects are workable by
assessing materials, costs and time requirements - Assessing the environmental impact and
risks connected to projects - Preparing bids for tenders, and reporting
to clients, public agencies and planning bodies - Managing, directing and monitoring
progress during each phase of a project - Making sure sites meet legal guidelines,
and health and safety requirements.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Civil Engineer must possess a
bachelor’s degree in civil engineering project/contract management or
environmental engineering from a recognized institution - Possess four or more years’ related
experience in working in substations and have worked in high voltage areas - Possess the ability to think methodically,
to design, plan and manage projects - Ability to maintain an overview of entire
projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities - Excellent verbal and written communication
skills - Negotiating, supervisory and leadership
skills combined with the ability to delegate.
