Job Summary: The Chief Financial Officer will take
responsibility of the financial management, planning and strategic financing
objectives across the Ugandan business whilst managing cash flows and treasury
mandates to achieve efficiencies and cost savings where applicable. The role
shall also extend to developing stronger controls and governance whilst also
overseeing change management and areas of process re-engineering across
operational and reporting based controls.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Offer financial advice
and participate in developing operational and financial strategies - Understand funding
requirements, maintaining relationships with external organisations and
manage working capital - Take lead of the
finance function by developing financial plans and policies, directing
treasury and budgeting as well as management information ensuring all
finance and accounting requirements are met - Develop the financial
strategy for the company and participate in the formulation of long term
organisational strategy - Review all existing contracts
and agreements - Guide new negotiations
ensuring that all contracts are properly documented and minimise any risk - The successful
candidate should display a strong financial background, ideally through a
Chartered Accountancy route, although MBA profiles shall also be
considered. - Candidates should
possess a sound knowledge of the telecom industry and all the specific
dynamics which that entails. - Supporting the CEO,
based domestically and a Group CFO based in Dubai, this role shall require
a committed, commercially astute and technically sound senior financial
professional.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must be
a fully qualified Accountant (ACA / CPA / ACCA) - Western educated
degree holder in a Finance / Business related subject - Trained / qualified
with a Big 4 or Mid-Tier practice and have gained exposure to conducting
audits, internal controls and review exercises - Possess extensive post
qualification experience within industry ideally from a Telecoms /
Technology background - Prior experience of
dealing with IFRS reporting standards and working on consolidated accounts
is essential - Significant experience
in a similar position would be highly desirable
