Cash Balance Retirement Benefit Plan for the Members of Parliament of Uganda
and the staff of the Parliamentary Commission. The Scheme is managed by a Board
of Trustees, constituted in accordance with the Act.
Secretary will be responsible for high level administrative support and secretarial
services to Management and the Board of Trustees.
- Organize
discussion papers, presentations and reports for Management and the Board. - Organize
and facilitate Management and Board meetings, thereby documenting quality
Minutes. - Organize
various events, seminars and retreats for the Board and Management thereby
properly documenting the proceedings. - Review
correspondences, submissions and reports to ensure proper routing and
appropriate responses. - Organize
travel: schedules and make reservations for the Board members and
Management. - Keep custody
and confidentiality of management and Board records. - Manage
the Chief Operations Manager’s diary, schedule meetings, appointments and
handle all communications - Receive
and guide visitors with high level of courtesy. - Manage
the front office and ensure sound organization of Chief Operations
Manager’s office.
- The
Administrative Secretary should hold a good bachelor’s degree in
Secretarial Studies, Social Sciences, Business Administration or Office
Management from a recognized University/ Institution. - At least
five (5) years of progressive working experience; two (2) of which should
have been served in a senior executive’s office in a busy environment. - Proven ability
in shorthand and word processing; with speeds of at least 100/120 and
50/60 words per minute respectively. - Excellent
computer literacy skills and proven ability in the relevant software such
as MS Office Suite. - Excellent
knowledge of operating standard office equipment like Scanner, Computer,
heavy duty Photocopying Machine, Fax, Networked Printer and use of Windows
Fax & Scan. - Possess
the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with
discretion. - High Self-drive
and ability to work independently with minimum supervision. - Emotionally
mature and a great team-worker. - Excellent
written and spoken command of the English language. - Attention
to detail and accuracy. - Excellent
organizational and planning skills. - Excellent
