Transform (ACT) Health
focuses on two of GOAL’S strategic sectors, namely: Health (including WASH and
health accountability) and Livelihoods and mainstreams HIV, gender, child
protection and the environment across all programming. GOAL works on a district
focused approach, and uses a mixture of direct implementation and partnerships
with local organisations to give effect to the mission.
Accountability Manager will primarily be responsible for the management and
technical oversight of the ACT Health Programme within their specific regions.
This includes on-going programme planning, technical oversight and management
of programme staff and partners within their respective regions.
- The
suitable job candidate should possess a good bachelor’s Degree in Social
Sciences, Development Studies, public administration, planning, economics
or Community Development - A minimum
of five (5) years programme management experience with previous
responsibilities for mentoring civil society organisations (community
based organisations) - Good working
knowledge of decentralisation, local government structures, policies and
procedures for participatory planning in the health sector in Uganda (to
be tested) - Excellent
verbal, presentation and participatory facilitation skills in English (to
be tested) - Strong
writing skills in English, including reporting writing - Computer
literacy skills - Good budget
development/management skills (to be tested) - Possess connections
to the international community of practice on good governance and
accountability (as demonstrated by membership in various societies or
working groups) - Possess
the ability to travel extensively, work and live in remote and hard to
reach areas.
