About URBRA:
The Uganda Retirement Benefits
Regulatory Authority manages retirement plans for Uganda’s public
workforce by serving as the fiduciary stewards of the contributions and
disbursements of the pension trust funds. In partnership with the state’s
public employers, we help ensure that they can offer their employees a
comprehensive retirement plan that is responsive to their needs and is
equitable to all stakeholders.

URBA’s primary mandates
include;

- Regulate
the establishment, management and operation of retirement benefits schemes
in Uganda in both private and public sector - Supervise
institutions which provide retirement benefits products and services - Protect
the interest of member and beneficiaries of retirement benefits schemes - Promote
the development of the retirement benefits sector - Provide
for licensing for custodians, trustees, administration and fund managers
of retirement benefits schemes, the appointment of inspectors and interim
administrators.
Job Summary: The Manager
Investment & Risk Analysis will periodically assess and guide retirement
benefit schemes in the formulation and implementation of investment decisions
through the provision of financial advice and services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze
financial data of the funds and schemes in the market to assess
performance and evaluate risk - Assess
fund performance in terms of the investment policies and agreements in
force - Evaluate
contribution returns and manage the preparation of statutory return
analysis reports - Review
risk profiles of schemes and update the score with input received from the
supervision team - Coordinate
continuous improvement of the Retirement Benefit Schemes toolkit and
assessment guidelines - Monitor
and report on the financial performance of fund accounts - Coordinate
inspection of schemes to ensure compliance with financial requirement - Liaison
with external stakeholders majorly the fund managers and fund trustees - Perform
any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
Manager Investment & Risk Analysis must possess a Bachelor’s degree in
Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Statistics, Commerce or Business
Administration - A
Master’s Degree in Finance, Financial Analysis, Economics, Financial
Management, Commerce or Business Administration - Full
professional qualification in financial analysis (CFA) - At
least eight (8) years relevant work experience in financial and risk
analysis at managerial level - Expertise
in financial analysis - Expertise
in assessing and interpretation of complicated financial and economic data
- Excellent
numeracy skills - High
analytical skills - Excellent
communication skills Problem-solving skills
