positions above in Nakivale Refugee Settlement with UNHCR Funding.
Job Summary: The BID
Assistant will primarily identify and monitor children at risk, UAM, SC and
document cases by filling in of Best Interest Determination forms, Best
Interest Assessment forms, carry out home visits for follow-ups and to monitor
the living conditions of documented cases and advocate for durable solutions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identification and documentation of UAMs/
    SC and other children at risk and their families
  • Carry out BIDs/BIAs for children at risk
  • Attend and participate in BID panel
    meetings
  • Process and submit accurate statistical
    reports on BID/BIA cases
  • Conduct needs assessment for UAMs/SC and
    other children at risk.
  • Provide psychosocial support (child
    friendly information and counseling) to UAMs/SC and other children at
    risk.
  • Submit quality monthly reports on issues
    and trends related to child protection using the established reporting
    formats
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant must hold a Bachelors’
    degree in social work, community psychology, development studies,
    counseling.
  • At least three years’ experience in child
    protection in an NGO especially in conducting BIDs/ BIAs for Children at
    risk.
  • Excellent report writing, communication
    and analytical skills.
