Job Summary: The RAN
Planning & Optimization Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the network delivery partner and the
managed services partner are meeting the Radio Network KPIs.
Planning & Optimization Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the network delivery partner and the
managed services partner are meeting the Radio Network KPIs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
RAN Planning Management (LTE and MW) including:
- Working in collaboration with the
commercial team to define radio coverage areas - Planning for capacity on the RAN, ensuring
provision for capacity at the right time - Work in liaison with the network vendors
and acceptance of the vendor RAN design - Software and feature Release Management,
involving request for feature, testing and acceptance. - Test plan method finalization with the
vendors and acceptance with respect to all RAN aspects (coverage,
capacity, quality, installation) - Sit Search and sign-off with vendors/sales
- Witness Commissioning and Acceptance of
RAN network - Responsible for Roll-out Planning
- The job holder will be responsible for
Interference Management - Network performance monitoring (KPIs) and
optimization - Take a technical lead in new projects that
involve RAN e.g. DAS, other in-building coverage solutions, PICO/FEMTO
cells, HOTSPOT V2 (all things Wi-Fi) - Input in the Head Networks on all aspects
related to RAN - Submission of management reports and
regulatory reports to Head Networks - Perform any other adhoc duties assigned
from time to time by the CTO or any other person appointed by the company
for this purpose.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should hold a bachelor’s
degree or Diploma in Telecoms/ Electronics or Computer Engineering - At least five to eight years’ work
experience - Knowledge in Basic Telecoms, LTE/3G, IP
Transport Networks, VoIP, Internet, Data Communications Networks - Exposure and understanding on RAN planning
& Optimizations (at least 2-3 years) - Knowledge of Radio principles around Radio
Access and Microwave Technologies - 2G/3G/WiMAX/LTE technologies RAN
Optimization - RAN planning (Commercial & Technical
aspects): Interference Management,
KPI Measurements and Network Acceptance/Commissioning - Past supervisory experience
- Training in Planning tools
- Training in Drive Test tools
- Personal Qualities & Behavioral traits
- Be a self-starter
- Excellent interpersonal and communication
skills - High team ethic
- Ability to manage a team
