Job Summary: The Senior Officer
Logistics will work under the direct control and supervision of the Area
Manager. The job holder will provide logistical support to district offices
through planning, coordinating and implementing procedures in the key areas of
procurement, fleet andstores/ asset management. This will be achieved through
provision of accurate and timely service delivery to the field programmes in
line with the set policies, procedures and guidelines. The Senior Officer may
be called upon as and when necessary to support the emergency team in cases of
humanitarian crisis.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • The job suitor should
    possess a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Development
    Studies, Education particularly Non Formal education and/or any related
    field. Additional post-graduate training in project planning &
    management, monitoring and evaluation, or related field is an added
    advantage
  • A minimum of three years’
    accumulated experience with an international NGO dealing with child and/or
    youth-focused interventions.
  • Prior experience of
    working with local partners and District Local Government in Child Rights
    Governance, Health, Nutrition, Education, HIV/AIDS or Child Protection is
    an added advantage.
  • Excellent analytical
    skills and strategic planning abilities.
  • Possess the ability to
    establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform
    effectively as a member of a team.
  • Possess willingness to
    travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous
    conditions.
  • Excellent computer
    literacy and documentation skills
  • Availability and
    willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.
  • Highly developed
    cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international
    environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Possess the ability to
    intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Highly developed
    interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation
    and coaching
  • Excellent time
    management and planning capacity.
  • Availability and
    willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.
