Uganda
Regulatory Authority manages retirement plans for Uganda’s public
workforce by serving as the fiduciary stewards of the contributions and
disbursements of the pension trust funds. In partnership with the state’s
public employers, we help ensure that they can offer their employees a
comprehensive retirement plan that is responsive to their needs and is
equitable to all stakeholders.

- Regulate
the establishment, management and operation of retirement benefits schemes
in Uganda in both private and public sector - Supervise
institutions which provide retirement benefits products and services - Protect
the interest of member and beneficiaries of retirement benefits schemes - Promote
the development of the retirement benefits sector - Provide
for licensing for custodians, trustees, administration and fund managers
of retirement benefits schemes, the appointment of inspectors and interim
administrators.
- Develop
and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule for all ICT equipment and
resources - Maintain
and update the ICT inventory and make recommendations for replenishment as
necessary - Make
certain of the implementation of all policies related to ICT services,
including procurement, distribution and asset management. - Carry
out upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems: - Ensure
the smooth running of all ICT systems, including anti-virus software,
print services and email provision; - Ensure
that software licensing laws are adhered to; - Provide
secure access to the network for remote users; - Ensure
the security of data from internal and external attack; - Provide
users with appropriate support and advice; - Manage
crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software
problems; - Train
new ICT staff and other URBRA staff on IT applications - Keep
up to date with the latest technologies. - Prepare
a strategic IT Plan for the Authority. - Maintain
and update the Authority website - Create
a database management system for the Authority. - Perform
any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
- The
Senior ICT Officer should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science,
Information Systems, Information Technology or Telecommunications
Engineering - A
master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information
Technology or Telecommunications Engineering or Certified IT professional
qualifications will be an added advantage - At
least three years’ relevant experience in a busy environment
