Uganda Youth Development Link (UYDEL) has received funding from Comic Relief to
implement a three-year project –Partnership for Empowerment of Vulnerable Women
& Girls in the Urban Slums of Kampala City. The project aims at
- Supporting
vulnerable girls/young women to gain employable vocational skills; - Increased
access to integrated HIV/ - Sexual
Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information, services and support;
and - Increasing
access to integrated early childhood care and development among children
of the vulnerable girls and women in the urban slums.
- Coordinates
implementation of monitoring, evaluation & learning initiatives for
the Project implemented in Kampala district including, development of
Projects indicators, monitoring frameworks, tools and guidelines; - Take
lead in the development and design of all researches within the projects
working closely with the Project Coordinator, MER Manager, Program Unit
Manager and technical specialists’ team. - Assist
Training and Development activities and provides coaching and mentoring
for Plan and partner staff on monitoring, evaluation & research; - Facilitates
organisational learning by developing, collecting and disseminating
relevant internal and external project information on monitoring,
evaluation & research; - Prepares
M&E quarterly progress reports on the Projects’ monitoring, evaluation
& research initiatives for internal and external use; - Work
collaboratively with partner staff to manage project data base; and - Offer
technical support the utilization of the corporate M & E system within
the project - Perform
any other relevant job tasks and duties as required by protocol.
- The
applicant should possess a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in
Population and Demography, Statistics, Development, Social Sciences or any
other relevant field; - Possess
an additional Post graduate training in M&E or project planning and
management would be an added advantage; - A
minimum of three years’ experience in design and implementation of
monitoring, evaluation and research initiatives for integrated HIV/SRHR
and livelihood programs for vulnerable populations, especially the
most-at-risk populations for HIV/AIDS such as Commercial Sex Workers and
their children; - Working
knowledge of environment and current effective practice on monitoring,
evaluation and research approaches; - Monitoring
and evaluation of rights-based programmes including use of participatory approaches,
case studies and rights-based programming; - Possess
excellent computer literacy skills in Excel, MS Access, SPSS and other
statistical packages - Excellent
communication skills, both in written English and in face-to-face
presentations - Excellent
skills in report writing and project documentation; and - Prior
experience in using data management systems;
