About NEC:
National Enterprise Corporation was established in 1989 by the Act of
Parliament soon after the NRA/NRM liberation war as the commercial arm of the
Army, with the view of redeploying and providing gainful employment to soldiers
who were involved in the war and produce goods and services for the army, with
profit being used to improve the welfare of soldiers.

Job Summary: The Managing Director
(MD) is the Chief Executive officer (CEO) of Corporation. He/She is the
accounting officer and is directly responsible for the Day to day management
and administration of the Corporation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overall planning,
coordination, direction and control of the corporation’s operations. - Work collaboratively with the board of
Directors provides strategic direction for the corporation by periodically
formulating and reviewing the organizations corporate objectives and
business/Strategic plans - Responsible for Implementation of Board
decisions, approved Corporation policies and plans. - Reviews and appraises Corporation
operational performance and initiates corrective action as may be deemed
necessary. - Coordinates and supervises all
subsidiaries to ensure that they adhere to corporation objectives,
policies and plans. - The Managing Director regularly consults
with the subsidiary managers to ensure that Corporation objectives are
achieved.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The MD should possess an Advanced Degree
in Business Administration, management and/ or Economics or any other
relevant qualification - A minimum of ten years’ experience, five
of which should have been at senior management level. Those who will have
worked and/or working with Defence forces at senior rank will have an
added advantage. - Good communication and interpersonal
skills.
