Regulatory Authority manages retirement plans for Uganda’s public
workforce by serving as the fiduciary stewards of the contributions and
disbursements of the pension trust funds. In partnership with the state’s
public employers, we help ensure that they can offer their employees a
comprehensive retirement plan that is responsive to their needs and is
equitable to all stakeholders.
include;
- Regulate
the establishment, management and operation of retirement benefits schemes
in Uganda in both private and public sector - Supervise
institutions which provide retirement benefits products and services - Protect
the interest of member and beneficiaries of retirement benefits schemes - Promote
the development of the retirement benefits sector - Provide
for licensing for custodians, trustees, administration and fund managers
of retirement benefits schemes, the appointment of inspectors and interim
administrators.
ICT is responsible for installation and maintenance of hardware, software,
networks and IT security of URBRA.
- Evaluate
the Authority’s ICT needs and design an ICT infrastructure and facilities
that meet these needs; - Develop
and implement an ICT strategy for the Authority - Prepare
the ICT budget - Schedule
upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems; - Research
and install new systems; - Manage
the smooth running of all ICT systems, including anti-virus software,
print services and email provision; - Ensure
that the ICT infrastructure complies with all licensing laws - Provide
a system that ensures IT security - Mentor
and train new ICT staff; - Keep
up to date with the latest technologies - Manage
and maintain the Authority website - Perform
any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
- The
applicant must possess a good Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science,
Information Systems, Information Technology or Telecommunications
Engineering - Hold
a master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information
Technology or Telecommunications Engineering - Professional
certification such as CCDA, CCNA, CISSP or MCSE and others - At
least eight (8) years relevant work experience in Information Systems,
Information Technology or Telecommunications Engineering at managerial
level - Expert
knowledge and understanding of computer hardware and software systems and
programs - Expertise
in networks, network administration and network installation - Expert
proficiency in database management - Excellent
computer troubleshooting and problem-solving skills - Good
knowledge of computer viruses and security standards - Knowledge
of email and internet programs - Website
