Job Summary: The Head of
Finance will primarily oversee Bank of Africa’s finance function in accordance
with the established professional standards, policies and procedures and give
general strategic and operational guidance on all financial matters of the
Bank.

- the
planning and preparation of the bank’s strategic business plan - Oversight
of compliance with corporate and country financial reporting practices - Management
of periodical reporting to management, holding company and regulators - Managing
communications with the bank’s Executive Committee, the Board of
Directors, and other stakeholders on financial matters - Take
leadership of the Bank of Africa’s financial transaction recording process
in line with generally accepted accounting principles - Development,
improvement and oversight of revenue and expenditure consistency checks
and balances that promote performance management - Management
support through cost benefit analyses of investment and financing - Proposals
- Managing
and maintaining relationships with development institution partners - Participation
in credit risk and market risk management processes - Offer
tax planning and compliance expertise - Overall
development of the Finance function within the institution and adaptation
to needs of changing environment with process improvement - Take
lead, motivate and develop the e-channels team through rigorous
performance management, coaching, mentoring and learning interventions to
create a team able to deliver the e-channels mission - Oversee,
motivate and develop the Finance team through rigorous performance
management, coaching, mentoring and learning interventions to create a
team able to deliver the finance mission - Perform
any other duties as assigned by the Executive Directors of the bank
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- The
Finance Head must possess a masters’ Degree in Business - Additional
professional qualifications in Finance or Accounting e.g. ACCA, CFA, CPA
(must have) - At
least ten (10) years’ experience in Finance and Accounting; four of which
should be at senior management level - Computer
literacy skills i.e. competency in Microsoft Excel Spread-sheets, Word,
and PowerPoint, knowledge of accounting packages - Good
understanding and interpretation of industrial and national economic
trends - Strong
strategic and conceptual skills - Proven
Leadership and people management skills - High
customer centricity - Solid
business acumen and financial skills - Excellent
analytical and problem solving skills - Strong
decision-making, conflict resolution and problem solving skills - Strong
presentation skills, verbal and written communication skills, French is
desirable - Good
team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build
internal and external networks - Ability
to work under pressure, and exercise excellent judgment
