Exchange. Uganda Clays Ltd is Uganda’s leading manufacturer of quality baked
clay building products. Using Italian-made heavy clay processing machinery, the
Company manufactures well over 40 items of building materials from clay
excavated using surface mining techniques. The materials are baked to a
characteristic Kajjansi brick-red colour in two continuous Hoffman kilns using
coffee husks.

Job Summary: The Financial Accountant will be responsible
for maintaining accurate financial and accounting records and provide
Management with reports and information for performance evaluation and
planning.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare periodic
financial and management reports as per company financial policies and
procedures. - Verify the accuracy of
the accounting entries made during payment preparation as well as
adjustment journal entries. - Periodically review
monthly subsidiary and general ledger reconciliation reports including
bank reconciliation. - Monitor and update the
fixed assets register. - Ensure accurate computation
of all taxes and timely submission of the respective statutory returns. - Co-ordinate all the
activities of the financial accounting section including external audits. - Supervise records
management of the financial accounting section. - Manage performance and
development of subordinate staff. - Perform any other
duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should hold a bachelor’s
degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting) or Finance from a
recognized institution. - Professional accounting qualification i.e.
Intermediate/stage II of ACCA or CPA(U) - At least five (5) years of experience in a
similar position in a medium sized or large company. - Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency
in MS-office and a robust accounting package - Excellent analytical skills, speed &
accuracy and attention to detail.
