About RMNP Project:
WWF UCO with funding from the
European Union is implementing the “Sustainable Financing of the Rwenzori
Mountains National Park (RMNP) Project Uganda” a project aimed at promoting
sustainable conservation financing within the Rwenzori Landscape. The Project
will be implemented in partnership with the mandated Government Institutions,
Civil Society Organizations, the private sector and communities within the
Rwenzori Landscape.

Job Summary: The
Project Driver will be responsible for chaufeeuring and vehicle maintenance
services to the project. S/he will be responsible for transporting authorized
personnel, deliver and collect mail and other documents as and when required.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drives office vehicles for
transporting of authorized personnel, delivery and collection of mail documents
and other items; - Collects
and delivers mail and other communications from and government agencies and
other institutions; - Maintains
the assigned vehicles, renews the road license and vehicle insurances, performs
minor repairs and ensures that
the vehicle is kept clean. - Checks
the logging Official trips, daily mileages, fuel consumption, oil changes
greasing, etc in the log books; - Ensures
that in the event of accident, WWF rules and regulations are followed; - Assists
the administration department by obtaining information required from government agencies and suppliers; - Carries
out banking/ financial and other programme outdoor messenger duties; - Packs
materials received for dispatch, affixes labels, inserts material in envelopes
and franks outgoing mail; - Other
office duties such as photocopying, handling of in-coming/out-going phones,
screening of visitors, etc; - Perform
any other duties as may be assigned by the Project Finance & Administration
Officer.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The Project Driver should hold an
Ordinary level Certificate of Education - Possess a Valid driving Permit;
- Additional training in Defensive Driving
is an added advantage; - At least three years’ driving
experience; - Possess the ability to
speak and write in English and a local language; - Clean
driving, accident free record. - Excellent
interpersonal skills, pleasant personality; - Be
a good team player; - Capable of
assessing risk and judiciously taking correct action (Defensive driving
certificate); - Ability to
work long hours and in difficult terrain; - Flexibility
to work outside normal working hours;. - All aspiring job holders should adhere
