programmes promoting environment conservation in Uganda. WWF’s mission is to
stop the degradation of our planet’s natural environment, and build a future in
which humans live in harmony with nature.
European Union is implementing the “Sustainable Financing of the Rwenzori
Mountains National Park (RMNP) Project Uganda” a project aimed at promoting
sustainable conservation financing within the Rwenzori Landscape. The Project
will be implemented in partnership with the mandated Government Institutions,
Civil Society Organizations, the private sector and communities within the
Rwenzori Landscape.
Monitoring & Evaluation Officer (M&EO) will implement the Monitoring
& Evaluation strategy of WWF UCO and related activities in support of the
WWF UCO Conservation Programme.
- Take lead in the designing and
implementing the monitoring framework to track delivery against project goals
and objectives. - Implement
the overall framework for
project M&E, for example, annual project reviews, participatory impact
assessments, process monitoring, operations monitoring and lessons-learned
workshops. - Coordinate with all Project staff to ensure
implementation of the Project’s monitoring
and evaluation plan; - Conduct
regular updates of the Monitoring & Evaluation plan as required; - Work with the Project team to collate,
analyze, consolidate, monitor data and prepare reports of the project’s activities and processes as required for
WWF UCO, respective donors and other stakeholders, using the monitoring tools
in place (DashBoard, SPMS, APMS); - Proactively
participate in monitoring visits and consultation/s on the review of progress on a periodic basis and encourage
stakeholders’ involvement at all stages; - Collaborate
with implementing partners and other stakeholders to develop feasible and effective discussion events
where M&E data is analyzed and corrective actions can be agreed upon; - Periodically document results,
impacts and lessons learnt from project implementation and ensure exchange and dissemination of the
documents; - Offer
support in conducting validation exercises, as may be required by WWF-UCO, including project assessments, verification
of progress towards targets, indicators and/or implementation of M&E
recommendations; - Develop,
implement and Control the Monitoring & Evaluation budget; - Develop
and implement a plan for project related capacity-building on M&E; - In
liaison with the project communication Officer, compile news and produce conservation communication materials and
bulletins; - Ensure
compliance to reporting schedules and network standards both internal and external for all project related to conservation
work - Perform any other duties and
responsibilities as assigned by the Conservation Manager.
- Implement the Monitoring &
Evaluation strategy of the Project and related
activities in support of the WWF UCO Conservation Programme; - Coordinate,
Monitor, and evaluate the project’s activities and document best practices and lessons Learnt. - Provide
technical support to the Proejct, regarding tracking conservation delivery using the Dashboard and appropriate M& E
tools and processes; - Building
M & E capacity among WWF UCO staff;
- The M& E Officer should possess a
bachelor’s degree in ecology, sociology, economics or Monitoring &
evaluation; - Additional training
in Monitoring & Evaluation development and implementation is highly desired. - At
least three years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation work in conservation related
work; - Prior experience
in Monitoring &Evaluation methods and approaches (including quantitative,
qualitative and participatory); planning and implementation of M&E systems - Excellent analytical
skills information analysis and report writing skills; - Willingness
to undertake regular field visits and interact with different
stakeholders, especially
