Enterprise Corporation was established in 1989 by the Act of Parliament soon
after the NRA/NRM liberation war as the commercial arm of the Army, with the
view of redeploying and providing gainful employment to soldiers who were involved
in the war and produce goods and services for the army, with profit being used

Job Summary: The Animal Husbandry officer is directly changed with looking after the
health of animals on NEC farm Katonga. He/she ensures that they are healthy and
when they fall sick, he/she treats them. He/she provides appropriate veterinary
advice to management of the farm as and when it is deemed necessary.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Discusses
with the farm overseer the best farming practices.

Periodically
reviews and monitors the performance of animals on the farm and advises
management accordingly.

Officer will also be responsible for the safe custody and safety of animals on

Ensures
that all animals on the farm are healthy by periodic deworming, immunizing,
culling, and treating when sick.

and submits periodic technical reports to the farm overseer for onward
transmission to the Board of Directors.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

applicant should possess a Diploma in Animal Science Husbandry from a
recognized institution.

minimum of three years’ experience on a reasonably big farm.
