Electricity Transmission Company limited (UETCL) is responsible for bulk
purchase of electricity from the generating companies and selling it in bulk to
the distribution companies throughout Uganda. UETCL is also responsible for
exports and imports of electricity to Uganda. Our vision is: “To Become a
leading strategic business partner in the transmission and Single Buyer
Business and to support sustainable energy development in Uganda.”
Job Summary: The Pole Plant
Supervisor will primarily
provide efficient, quality and targeted production of treated poles while
ensuring safety of the operational staff.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement activities of the
    Pole Plant in line with the approved budget and company objectives.
  • Compile the annual programme
    Implementation plan for the Pole plant.
  • Ensure the procurement of quality
    seasoned poles through local competition bidding.
  • Manage the pole plant store
    procedures of receipt of poles, verification according to the UETCL set
    quality assurance guide lines/specifications
  • Manage the issuing of the Goods
    Received Notes for payment and verification sheet and payment certificate.
  • Manage pole preparation that
    includes pre -treatment tests, treatment chemical and treatment process.
  • Ensure the safety of operational
    staff in the pole plant during the offloading of poles from trucks,
    stacking of poles, treatment process of poles, mix of treatment chemicals
    and protective wear.
  • Perform any other duties as may be
    assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills
and Experience:
  • The applicant should hold a
    University Degree in Electro-Mechanical or equivalent professional
    qualification.
  • At least three (3) years in
    supervisory role in electrical and mechanical Engineering.
  • Must be very knowledgeable in
    maintenance and trouble shooting of pumps, motors and interpretation of
    electrical boards.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Proven good supervisory and
    interpersonal skills.
  • Proven good analytical and
    communication skills.
  • Must be able to withstand stressful
    work situations and have willingness to work for long hours outside the
    official working hours.
  • A person of high integrity, honesty,
    motivated, innovative and committed team player.
  • Possess a Valid national driving
    permit.
Age: Less than 40 years
