purchase of electricity from the generating companies and selling it in bulk to
the distribution companies throughout Uganda. UETCL is also responsible for
exports and imports of electricity to Uganda. Our vision is: “To Become a

Job Summary: The
Information Technology Technician
will install, maintain, issue and repair all IT infrastructure and equipment of
the organization according to the TIA/EIA, IEE and Industry standards.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure and maintain
UETCL LAN and WAN infrastructure according to the Company IT strategy and
TIA standards. - Test, repair, carry out routine
checks and maintenance schedules of IT equipment in the organization
according to manufacture’s recommendations and IEE standards. - File maintenance, consumable and
breakdown records and write periodic reports as per the IT policy. - Provide help desk support to IT
hardware users in order to maximize computer resource utilization as
required by the ICT policy. - Train staff in use of existing and
new IT hardware infrastructure. - Perform any other duties as may be
assigned from time to time.

- The applicant should hold an Ordinary
Diploma in Electrical/Electronics / Computer Engineering or equivalent
professional qualifications from a recognised technical institute. - Experience in maintenance of IT
hardware systems such as Printers, Computers, Laptops, Photocopiers, LAN
and WAN - Computer literacy skills
- Possess a valid driving permit.
- Ability to withstand stressful work
situations and have willingness to work long hours outside the normal
hours. - A person of integrity, highly
motivated, pro-active and committed team player.
