Stromme Microfinance East
Africa Limited (SMF EA Ltd) is a wholesale lending company with a mission to
provide, on a sustainable basis, market responsive financial services and
capacity building support to financial and business service providers to
enhance access to financial services by the enterprising poor in the East
African Region.

Job
Summary: The Finance
Manager will be responsible to plan, control and ensure efficient and effective
financial management of SMF EA Ltd resources. The Finance Manager reports to
the Chief Executive Officer but works closely with the Board and other staff of
Stromme Micro Finance East Africa Limited and Stromme Foundation East Africa
Regional Office.

Key
Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides
leadership on all financial issues including reporting to different
stakeholders
Participates
in the development of an overall Business plan for SMF EA Ltd
Participates
in the formulation and review of the Company’s policies and manuals
Establishes
and maintains all policies relating to financial management, financial
controls and risk
Manages
liquidity and the appropriate level of assets and liabilities
Supervises
the accounting system and process
Co-ordinates
internal and External audits
Ensures
compliance to audits, legal and any other statutory requirements
Secretary
to Finance Committee of the Board and prepares Committee reports
Handling
administrative work for the company e.g. Procurement, managing contracts
with service providers
Supervises
and appraises the accounting and support staff

Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:

The Finance Manager should
possess the following:

A
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Accounting and/or
Finance
Professional
accounting qualifications (ACCA or CPA-U ,etc) a must
Additional
post graduate qualification an added advantage.
At
least Five years working experience in microfinance and banking
institution/economic and business development institution with at least
two years at senior management position
Excellent
analytical skills
Self-motivated
team builder with good communication skills
Good
trainer, facilitator, coach
Computer
literacy skills
Proficiency
in using an accounting package and ability to adapt to a new one
The
Finance Manager should have capacity to work independently in developing
and implementing action plans guided by the company’s key Strategic
Objectives.
She/he
must have excellent communication, good report writing and interpersonal
skills.
