About NSIS Project:
The
Government of Uganda through the Ministry of Internal Affairs is implementing
NSIS Project. The project is crucial for the creation of a biometric National
Identification Register in order to strengthen citizen identity management,
national security and for social economic development of the country. The main
objective of the project is to create a reliable system for then identification
cards for citizens and other residents. The NSIS project has 14,662 vacancies
to be filled. The Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to fill these
vacancies on contract terms from four (4) to Sixteen (16) months to support the
project team.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, operation and control
of the maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance plan,
machine and supplier manuals, production schedules and product or
process set ups. - Managing of services and processes that support
the core activities of the project. - Ensuring that agreed on work is completed
satisfactorily. - Ensuring all production machines and equipments
are well maintained. - Analysing risks, defects, failures, proposing /
implementing corrective actions. - Documenting failures, corrective actions,
performance of suppliers, setups and down times. - Providing appropriate information to facilitate
purchase or replacement of machines and equipments. - Responsible for the training of maintenance
operators for all equipment used in the personalisation area. - Working with other relevant personnel to
improve production facilities. - Perform any other duties that may be assigned
from time to time.

- The
applicant should hold an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical
or Industrial Engineering. - Computer
Literacy skills - At least five years working experience in
relevant field.
