approach combining Education, Health, Agriculture, Livestock, Adolescent

website www.brac.net. The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Programme at BRAC
Based on the understanding that the future of Africa will be determined majorly
by the youth, the MasterCard Foundation has launched a scholar’s programme.
BRAC is partnering with the Foundation to implement this Programme in Uganda.
The vision of the programme is to educate and develop meritorious; yet
economically marginalized young people in Africa, next-generation leaders who
are committed to giving back, with access to quality education, and deliver
holistic financial, emotional and academic support throughout their secondary
education.
Summary: The Manager- Enrichment, Giveback and Alumni will
primarily be responsible for managing programme implementation as per the
agreement with MasterCard Foundation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
of key enrichment and giveback activities (comprehensive student support services,
network of high quality institutions and alumni network) according to key
deliverables agreed with MasterCard Foundation; these include:
- Organise
leadership congress for all scholars - Organise
training for teacher mentors for additional support to scholars - Engage
scholars in community service activities by organising workshops,
trainings, internships etc. - Organise
various networking events for high quality education institutions - Work
within and beyond Uganda to establish a scholars alumni network - Support
financial management and accountability for the programme - Ensure
efficient and effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders
regarding the programme - Support
Programme Manager to establish and maintain liaison with existing and
potential programme partners and explore potential partnerships for the
benefit of the programme - Perform
any other task assigned to achieve the vision of the programme - Reporting
and analysis of various programme initiatives - Analyse
information on various programme initiatives to assess impacts - Prepare
programme reports - Ensure
cross learning with other programmes and work in partnership with all BRAC
programmes
& Experience:
- The
applicant should hold a Master’s Degree preferably in Education, and or
social sciences. - At
least five years of working experience in the education sector, and
especially working with young people in skills building and training. - Work
experience of a multicultural environment, working and mentoring young
people. - A
demonstrated commitment to BRAC values - Ability
to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, trouble shooting and
follow up activities through to completion with strict deadlines and
without loss of attention to detail budget and reporting. - Excellent
computer skills, especially proficiency in Microsoft office applications,
and experience in database management.
