Security Information System (NSIS) Project

Government of Uganda through the Ministry of Internal Affairs is implementing
NSIS Project. The project is crucial for the creation of a biometric National
Identification Register in order to strengthen citizen identity management,
national security and for social economic development of the country. The main
objective of the project is to create a reliable system for then identification
cards for citizens and other residents. The NSIS project has 14,662 vacancies
to be filled. The Ministry of Internal Affairs would like to fill these
vacancies on contract terms from four (4) to Sixteen (16) months to support the
project team.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and managing IT to ensure
efficient Data Center operations with minimum downtime.
Designing and planning all IT
operations at the Data Center. - Setting up the Local Area Network
- Advising and/or troubleshooting IT problems.
- Organizing and coordinating IT training of the
staff. - Managing equipment allocation for the local
office teams. - Keeping the hardware and software inventory
up-to-date and accurate. - Ensuring that all technical documentation is
kept up-to-date as per agreed standards.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
and Experience:
- The
applicant should hold an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science,
Information Technology, Computer engineering OR Information Systems
Management - Professional
networking certifications, such as CompTIA’s Network+, Cisco’s CCNA, and
Microsoft’s MCTS: Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Configuration is an
added advantage. - At least
three years’ working experience in the administration of LAN
infrastructures
