Job Summary: The Programme Officer to support an exciting new
programme which aims to support youth to make more informed decisions about
their sexual and reproductive health. The Programme Officer will support the
design, delivery and review of a youth-led advocacy strategy focused on
comprehensive sexual health education (CSE). The Programme Officer will also
support the Programme Coordinator to lead training and mentoring for CSOs
committed to integrating CSE into their programmes.
Key Duties &
Responsibilities:

1. Establish and
support a network of youth advocates 50%

- Design and development of training curriculum
on youth-led advocacy - Recruitment and
training of a team of young people to lead advocacy on CSE at local and
national levels - Co-development of an
advocacy strategy with youth advocates - Design and development of mentoring and other
capacity development initiatives to support youth with their advocacy
initiatives - Support youth to engage
in national and sub-national advocacy
2. Support training and mentoring for CSOs 15%
- Support
design and development of training curriculum for CSOs - Support
recruitment and training of a team of young people to lead training and
other capacity development support to targeted CSOs - Support
regular monitoring visits to assess progress - Document
and disseminate learning and best practice
3. Administration and Logistics

- Lead
on logistical arrangements for programme activities, including
coordinating venues and transport for workshops/trainings etc. - Lead
on administrative support for all programme activities, including
coordinating materials and maintaining appropriate records
4. Financial Management 15%
- Ensure
effective budget management in accordance with organisational financial
procedure and donor requirements - Support
development of donor budgets and programme expenditures reports - Support
development of annual programme budgets and quarterly reforecasts - Ensure
that value for money is obtained in all purchases
5. Other 5%: Perform other duties as required, including occasional work on weekends
for which time off in lieu can be taken

Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:
Experience:
- The
candidate should have prior working experience supporting youth advocacy
initiatives - Experience
implementing youth sexual reproductive health programmes - Experience
managing and reporting against programme budgets - Experience
managing activity budgets - A
sound understanding of contemporary development issues particularly those
related to youth sexual reproductive health and youth participation - Sound organisational
skills and a methodological approach to programme management - Strong interpersonal
and communication skills (written and verbal) - Excellent facilitation
skills, including working with youth - Fluency in written and
spoken English essential - Good IT skills
