Client, SOS Children’s Villages Uganda is a member of SOS Kinderdorf
International, a worldwide, independent, non-governmental social development
organization that has been working to meet the needs and protect the interests
and rights of children since 1949.
Children’s Villages Uganda is a locally registered Trust with a local governing
body: the Board of Trustees. It has been operating since 1989 and currently has
projects caring for more than 2,500 children in four locations at Kakiri,
Entebbe, Gulu and Fort Portal. The various projects include SOS Children’s
Villages, Community outreach programmes, Kindergartens, schools, medical
centres and social centres.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership for the Family Based Care (FBC) programme at
location. - Lead the planning, budgeting and implementation of the FBC
programme’s action plan. - Lead the regular monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of
the FBC programme’s action plan. - Ensure the quality of child care at location is within the framework
of the SOS child care model. - Be a guardian and take an active role in the growth, development and
education of each SOS child/youth at location. - Support the SOS families and mothers in working towards the best
interest of the children and youth at location. - Lead and build a motivated performance driven FBC programme staff
team at location. - Participate in developing and maintaining relations with local and
international sponsors of the FBC programme at location.
- The candidate should hold a university degree from a reputable
institution. - Minimum of 5 years post work related experience with child/youth
care programmes, with 2 years at a supervisory level. - Experience in planning, budgeting, implementing, monitoring and
evaluating programmes. - Experience in developing and maintaining donor relations.
- Planning and organisation skills.
- Representing and networking skills.
- People management skills such as training, coaching and mentoring.
- Written communication skills
- Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
