Administrator
Commission of Uganda serves the following functions;
- To appoint,
promote and exercise disciplinary control over persons holding public
office in Parliament; - To review the
terms and conditions of service, standing orders, training and
qualifications of persons holding office in Parliament; - To provide a
Parliamentary reporting service; - To provide such
other staff and facilities as are required to ensure efficient functioning
of the Parliament; - To cause to be
prepared in each financial year, estimates of revenue and expenditure for
the next financial year; and - To make
recommendations to Parliament, or with the approval of Parliament,
determine the allowances payable and privileges available to the Speaker
and Members of Parliament.
will support day-to-day operations and administration of information and Technology
Systems of the Institution.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the installation of ICT
hardware and software - Administer and maintain network infrastructure
- Maintain controls in LAN and WAN infrastructure
- Install and regularly update antivirus software
- Participate in the management of the Data
Centre - Train and support users of Information
Technology Systems and hardware - Carry out regular backups and recovery
procedures - Perform any other duties as delegated by
superiors
Experience:
- The applicant should possess an Honours
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information and Communication
Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or Software
Engineering from a recognised Institution
- Knowledge of Shell scripting languages such as
Power Shell, Bash, PERL, CSCRIPT and Python - Knowledge in use of LINUX, Windows Operating
Systems and application software. - Ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware, software,
and network problems - Good working knowledge of Network planning, administration
and management - Knowledge of Active Directory/LDAP
- Good analytical, communication and
interpersonal skills
