(MSH) is an international non-profit, public health organisation with
headquarters in USA, whose purpose is to strengthen health programs worldwide.
MSH Uganda is currently running a number of USAID and other donor funded projects,
both in Kampala and other parts of the country including STRIDES for Family
Health project and TRACKTB.
Health/Family Planning and Child Survival Services Project whose goal is to
train and support health service providers across 15 selected districts in
Uganda to be fully functional and deliver quality, integrated RH/FP and CS
services to more people. The STRIDES Project is recruiting staff for its one
year extension period ending February 2015.
- The
Senior Technical Officer’s overall responsibility is to provide technical
direction to STRIDES nutrition activities at district, facility and
community levels. - The
Officer will closely liaise with the Senior Technical Advisor, DHMTs, coordinate
nutrition resource persons, health unit in-charges as well as other
implementing partners to coordinate nutrition activities in the both the
Central and Eastern region districts. - Ensure
proper documentation and reporting of relevant nutrition data at all
service points in collaboration with M&E Manager - Work
with the district nutrition focal persons, sub-county TOTs and health
facility incharges of the priority health facility staff to forecast
monthly RUTF requirements and ensure timely orders and delivery of the
food items. - Ensure
engagement of VHT’s in rapid PD/H activities in close collaboration with
the Operations Manager.
- The applicant should hold a Degree in public health with field related
to nutrition or in nutrition with public health bias, - At
least three years of demonstrated experience in developing and
implementing successful nutrition programs, managing malnutrition in
infants/children, and promoting behavioral change for prevention of
malnutrition, - Experience
working with or open to work with the private sector, - Experience
working at the community level preferred, - Demonstrated
ability to plan and coordinate with a variety of collaborators, including
DHMTs, NGOs and community-based organizations, - Demonstrated
experience providing technical assistance to government and non-government
health workers, - Strong
organizational skills, - Strong
report writing and computer skills.
