liaison offices in Berlin and Brussels and country offices in Uganda, Kenya,
Ethiopia and Tanzania. DSW’s primary goal is to help people free themselves
from poverty. For this purpose, we support integrated programs in sexual and
reproductive health and rights focusing on youth empowerment, advocacy and

Job Summary: The National
Team Coordinator is the liaison between the International Team Manager dealing
with strategic and policy issues on an international DSW overall level and
operationalization at country office level. S/he works in close cooperation with
the National Department Manager to ensure effective and efficient
implementation of projects within his/her area of responsibility.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Organisational Development:
  • Advise the Department Manager on
    departmental inputs for strategic cost-effective and sustainable
    structures and processes of resource mobilization within Country Office.
  • Support the Departmental
    Manager with the development of strategies, procedures and guidelines to
    identify and secure partnerships with individuals, institutions and
    organisations which are positioned to 
    effectively complement and support resource mobilisation and
    project / programmes with regard to resource mobilisation
  • Coordinate the
    development and implementation of quality standards for proposals
  • Support the
    department manager in developing training and coaching programmes with
    regard to resource mobilisation
2. Team Coordination:
  • Take lead role in writing technical proposals
    and budgets
  • Monitor progress of project implementation
    against work plans and budgets
  • Lead proposal teams, outline roles and
    responsibilities for each team member whilst overseeing proposal
    preparation to meet donor requirements and enforcing DSW’s quality
    standards
  • Offer technical support, backstopping and resources
    about the latest developments in the field of resource mobilisation to the
    country office resource mobilisation staff.
  • Coordinate and monitor the staff
    engagements in resource mobilisation including the development of clear
    goals and targets
  • Support negotiation of partnership
    arrangements and budgets; coordinate teaming agreements, memorandum  of understandings and other
    institutional agreements with partners
  • Coordinate and lead implementation of
    country office overall resource mobilisation and assuring that the
    strategies and secure partnerships with institutions and organisations
    which can provide funds for the achievement of DSW’s objectives are developed
    and implemented
Qualification Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant should
    hold a University degree  (Bachelor’s and MA will be an added
    advantage
  • Excellent track record in resource mobilization
    for development work is essential.
  • Prior successful proposals with European
    Union which have been funded
  • Good working knowledge of the NGO
    framework in Uganda.
  • Excellent team ethic
  • Strong budgeting skills
  • Good reporting skills
  • Excellent communication
    skills and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical
    skills
  • Possess ability to
    translate project ideas into project proposals
  • Excellent oral and
    communication skills (both technical as well as persuasive and diplomatic
    writing)
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Three years working
    experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience in
    community mobilisation and implementing SBGV projects.
  • Good facilitation
    and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage
    social cultural dynamics
