Finance Officer

financial and Business Development services to active and productive Ugandans.
MSC Ltd supports legally established entities engaged in the value chain
namely; production, value addition and marketing enterprises.
Manager Finance and Accounting (F&A) will be responsible for preparing
timely management accounting information and preparation of finances and
expenditures.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor revenue collection and credit
fund performance and reviews all loan receipts and ensure timely banking
of such monies by the zonal offices. - Responsible for maintaining financial and
accounting data or records and conducting the end of period closing
process and produce financial reports. - Responsible for coordination with the
external auditors during the annual audits and or other management audits.
- Responsible for timely preparation of
employee’s payroll and review requisitions invoices and attachments to
confirm that payments are for goods and services ordered for against LPO
or Contract or are in line with budget limits. - Responsible for maintenance and
reconciliation of salary and official advance ledger and ensure timely
retirement of the official advance. - Maintain the Subsidiary and general
Ledger and ensure it is balanced and reconciled every month. - Review all zonal accountabilities for
imprest and advances and forward them to the CFO’s for approval. - Periodically visit zonal offices to
ensure that accounting procedures and controls are implemented. - Responsible for preparation of the
Company budget and budget variance reports. - Responsible for maintaining loan fund
ledgers by source, loan disbursement and recovery processes. - Manage the performance of staff that
report to him/her directly. - Responsible for maintaining fixed asset
register to ensure that there are sufficient safeguards for company
assets. - Perform any other duties as assigned by
supervisor
Indicators:
- Organisational planning, budgeting and
reporting - Balanced and reconciled monthly ledger
accounts - Efficient employee payroll and other
benefits systems and procedures - Revenue performance (Loan disbursements,
collections, and reconciliation) - Proper financial expenditure and
accounting controls and procedures - Management, performance and development
of all staff reporting to the position
Experience:
- The applicant should possess a Degree
(Honours) in any of the following; Commerce, Business Administration,
Economics, Statistics or any other related discipline plus full
professional accounting qualifications i.e. CPA, ACCA, etc, or equivalent - A master’s degree in similar field will
be of added advantage. - At least five years working experience in
accounting, with a reputable organization preferably in financial services
industry 2 years of which should be at middle level management. - Experience in automated accounting
systems. - All candidates must demonstrate practical
knowledge in accounting packages - Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Self driven with high sense of
responsibility. - Ability to meet deadline with minimal
supervision. - High level degree of integrity
