professional’s council was established by an Act of Parliament in 1996, cap
268. The Council is a body corporate with a perpetual succession. It may sue or
be sued in its corporate name and subject to this statute may do or suffer all
other things and acts as body corporate do or suffer.

Job Summary: The Accountant
will manage the budgeting, revenue collection and accountability of council
funds

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure
compliance with applicable taxes and other requirements including VAT,
PAYE, NSSF, Insurance etc - Prepare monthly,
quarterly and annual financial reports, - Manage, control
and account for the financial resources in the financial year, - Supervise the
collection of revenue, - Counter-checking
financial requisitions, - Check alignment
of activity work plans to Council budgets, - Prepare budgets
and work plans for the Council - Ensure timely
payment for works, goods and services provided to the Council, - Prepare
responses to audit queries, - Perform other
duties incidental to the above assigned from time to time by the
supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- The applicant
should hold a Bachelors degree in
Accounting and Finance, Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting option) from
a recognized institution, - Possess relevant
professional qualification such as ACCA or CPA, - Be knowledgeable
about public accounting policies and practices, - At least 2 years
relevant working experience with a reputable organization.
