organization that provides humanitarian assistance and training to millions of
beneficiaries around the world. The ARC seeks to promote peaceful and safe
communities where men and women have equal rights and communities can access locally
owned, high-quality services.
Summary: The Area
Program Coordinator will primarily be responsible for the overall
implementation of ARC programs in South West region of Uganda. He/she will
provide leadership and management support to program teams to allow for
efficient program implementation and budget management.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Quality: Develop and
oversee a technically sound work plan including grant spending plan consistent
with the objectives of the program.
Advocacy: Maintain
an open dialogue with all relevant sectoral and inter-agency actors operating
in refugee settlements and participate in all related working Group Meetings
and/or other coordination meetings.
Evaluation: Ensure
relevant monitoring of all program indicators and all indicators needed for
advocacy and strategic planning
Oversight: Manage
the work plan in accordance with agreed program budget lines.
ensure that activities receive adequate logistical support (fleet management,
procurement, asset and warehouse management)
Management: Provide
leadership and support, promote stress management, and develop staff capacity.
and Experience:
- The
applicant should possess at least five years program management experience
with similar Protection / GBV programs serving refugees, internally
displaced populations, or other conflict and post-conflict populations. - S/he
should also hold a Masters in Management required and a Bachelors degree
in development studies, community development, social sciences or a
relevant area with training in Proposal writing - Exhibit
demonstrated management skills and ability to work independently. - Practical
knowledge of financial management tools and processes & knowledge of
USG Financial Rules & Regulations. - Knowledge
of BPRM compliance requirements. - Experience
in community-based programming approach
