Uganda and a member of the International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement is
seeking to recruit dynamic, self-motivated individuals to fill the enlisted
positions; following the support received from the Joint Population Program –
financed by DFID through the World Health Organization (WHO) to Uganda Blood
Transfusion Services (UBTS); to establish three new blood collection teams in
Lira, Arua and Moroto Districts. URCS has therefore, been entrusted by UBTS to
contract and jointly implement activities for this program. URCS is an equal

Job Summary: The Donor Care
Assistant will ensure a healthy work environment for the blood donors’ comfort,
protection from infections on site and dissemination of good health seeking
behaviors.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Phlebotomy in line with the standard
procedures. - Provide nursing care services to Blood Donors.
- Carry out observations, maintain proper records
and ensure safety of blood donors. - Keep Blood Donors comfortable and ensure a
healthy work environment. - Manage and account for all allocated resources.
- Carry out health education to blood donors.
- Participates in research activities.
- Adhere to Professional Code of Conduct and
Ethics. - Cleans blood collection equipment.
Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:
Experience:
- The candidate must have an Enrolled Nursing
Certificate or its equivalent from a recognized Institution; member of the
Nurses and Midwives Council; - Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills and the knowledge of local language is an added advantage.
