Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) a leading organisation in the Water
sector in Uganda with a Vision “To be a leading Water Utility in the World.”
NWSC is a utility parastatal 100% owned by The Government of Uganda. It was
established in 1972 under decree No: 34. The mandate of the Corporation as
defined in the National Water & Sewerage Corporation Statute of 1995, Section
5 (1), is to operate and provide water and sewerage services in areas entrusted
to it, on a sound, commercial and viable basis. The NWSC operations were
initially in three towns of Kampala, Jinja, and Entebbe.
conduct correct, accurate and timely surveys and update of network maps in
respect to new water connections, water & sewerage mains extensions and
modifications to the existing mains.
- Conduct field survey and updating of water and
sewer network extensions and modifications. - Create maps and update properties in Areas
where maps are either lacking or inadequate. - Update new and upgraded roads within the
network maps. - Analyze new connection survey information from
Branches for suitability, accuracy and completeness in capture. - Carry out digital update of block maps.
- Provide technical advice and guidelines on
matters relating to surveying. - Train field assistants, and direct their work
in such activities as performing surveys or producing maps.
Experience:
- The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s Degree
in Surveying. - Postgraduate qualifications in remote sensing
and photogrammetry is an added advantage - Must be proficient in surveying, digitizing,
survey software applications like AutoCAD, CAD Land development, ArcGIS,
Arc MAP, Arc PAD. - Must have relevant experience of one (1) year.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability
to listen and identify solutions to problems. - Must be a team worker
- Ability to train and mentor others.
- Must be able to explain difficult scientific
concepts orally and in writing to lay audience in an understandable
manner. - Must have good communication skills to
communicate with customers while in the field. - Must be able to work long hours in the field
with minimum supervision.
