seeking to recruit dynamic, self-motivated individuals to fill the enlisted
positions; following the support received from the Joint Population Program –
financed by DFID through the World Health Organization (WHO) to Uganda Blood
Transfusion Services (UBTS); to establish three new blood collection teams in
Lira, Arua and Moroto Districts. URCS has therefore, been entrusted by UBTS to

Job Summary: The Laboratory
Technologist will be responsible for proper collection, handling and
transportation of blood to the laboratory; for analysis, interpretation of
results and submission of quality reports.

- Manages and accounts
for all allocated resources. - Participates in proper
collection, handling and transportation of blood to the laboratory. - Carries out laboratory
analysis, interprets results and submits timely and quality reports. - Requisitions for
equipment and other laboratory supplies using the standard procurement
procedures. - Ensures that equipment
is functional and well maintained, including but not limited to cleaning. - Ensures adherence to
safety measures against hazards. - Participates in quality
assurance measures for laboratories. - Participates in research
activities. - Adheres to Professional
Code of Conduct and Ethics.
Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:
Experience:
- The candidate must have a National Diploma in
Medical Laboratory Techniques or its equivalent from a recognized
Institution; - The candidate must be registered with the
Allied Health Professionals Council; - Excellent communication skills as well as a
team player. - Knowledge of local language is an added
advantage.
