About NWSC:
National
Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) a leading organisation in the Water
sector in Uganda with a Vision “To be a leading Water Utility in the World.”
NWSC is a utility parastatal 100% owned by The Government of Uganda. It was
established in 1972 under decree No: 34. The mandate of the Corporation as
defined in the National Water & Sewerage Corporation Statute of 1995, Section
5 (1), is to operate and provide water and sewerage services in areas entrusted
to it, on a sound, commercial and viable basis. The NWSC operations were
initially in three towns of Kampala, Jinja, and Entebbe.
Job Summary: The Human Resources
Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the Human Resources employed meet
the short, medium and long term objectives and that every employee’s potential
and energies are directed to improve the overall performance of the company.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Receive and process requests for recruitment
  • Prepare and update manpower levels
  • Update salary scales of all employees
  • Supervise management of all staff welfare
    schemes
  • Manage the medical scheme and produces all
    medical reports for management information
  • Maintain and update personnel record through
    the Human Resource Management Information System software
  • Prepare the leave roaster and process all staff
    leave
  • Issue and renew identity cards.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant should possess a Bachelor’s
    Degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Organizational
    Psychology, Human Resource Management, Social Works and Social
    Administration.
  • Post Graduate qualification in Human Resources
    Management is an added advantage.
  • At least a year’s post qualification
    experience.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision.
  • Knowledge of labour laws of Uganda.
  • Proficiency in Human Resources Management
    Principles and Procedures.
  • Ready to work long hours.
  • Must be a mature and seasoned professional
    manager who is able to interact and coordinate activities well with staff
    at all levels of the company.
Age: below 35 years
