Recruitment Manager
Red Cross Society (URCS) the leading National Humanitarian Organization in
Uganda and a member of the International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement is
seeking to recruit dynamic, self-motivated individuals to fill the enlisted
positions; following the support received from the Joint Population Program –
financed by DFID through the World Health Organization (WHO) to Uganda Blood
Transfusion Services (UBTS); to establish three new blood collection teams in
Lira, Arua and Moroto Districts. URCS has therefore, been entrusted by UBTS to
contract and jointly implement activities for this program. URCS is an equal

Counsellor (BDC) is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective
implementation of blood donor counselling activities in the operational area.
He/she will be responsible for the generation of proposals, implementation of
BDR program plans and dissemination of quality information on blood donation
and general URCS information in accordance with the URCS standards and
guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Works towards the achievement of overall goals
of the URCS through effective managerial, accountabilities and lateral
relations.
- Prepares and implements annual program work
plans and budgets. - Provides counseling services to blood donors in
a timely and confidential manner in close collaboration with UBTS. - Works with Branch Managers, Community
Counselors and Volunteers to strengthen Blood Donor Clubs and Club 25 in
the catchment areas. - Initiates, develops and implements new blood
donor motivation and retention strategies. - Develops and strengthens a referral system for
blood donors in collaboration with partner organizations.
- Develops resource mobilization initiatives to
support BDR motivation and retention strategies. - Ensures timely submission of regional data,
activity reports and accountabilities on quarterly and annual basis.
Experience:
- The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree
in Counseling and Guidance, or Community Psychology or its equivalent with
at least two years of experience in social mobilization and community
counseling in a voluntary humanitarian intervention; - Proven communication and Public Relations
skills; strong administrative, organizational, interpersonal and computer
skills. - Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to changing
requirements; a team builder who is culturally sensitive, excellent
analytic and dispute settlement skills; - Knowledge of local language in the area is an
added advantage.
