Relations and Communications Officer
Wealth, Agriculture, and Nutrition in Karamoja (RWANU)
Assistance Program called ‘Resiliency through Wealth, Agriculture, and Nutrition
in Karamoja (RWANU)”, being implemented in Karamoja. Uganda. The RWANU
Project is focusing on two strategic objectives to reduce food insecurity among
vulnerable rural populations in selected sub-counties of Amudat. Moroto, Napak
and Nakapiripirit: (1) improved availability and access to food; and (2)
reduced malnutrition in pregnant and lactating mothers and children under five.
Relations and Communications Officer will manage the full range of stakeholder
and public information as well as outreach activities in support of ACDINOCA
RWANU programs and objectives, targeting information to specific audiences in
program areas and program stakeholders in accordance with the program’s
strategy and evolving circumstances.
- Ensure
overall quality and coherence of the program’s branding, marking and
communications initiatives. - Liaise
with COP, HQ and managers in the implementation of the program’s branding
and marking plan, communications and outreach plan. - Integrate
key branding communications to beneficiaries and stakeholders in project implementation
processes. - Support
communication of key project events and activities as well as tailored reporting
to sub-county officials - Offer
support by writing brief success stories about project beneficiaries - Act
as an advisor to and liaison with management regarding all stakeholder
communications, media relations, and outreach matters. - Maintain
up-to-date knowledge of all USAID and ACDI/VOCA branding and marking regulations
- The
candidates should all possess two years of work experience in Public
Relations/ Journalism/Communication field; - Experience
in implementing communication strategies and PR plans; - Ability
to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal
format and build/ maintain relationships; - Good
understanding of USAID communications and branding and marking guidelines
is preferred; - Prior
working experience with USAID projects is desired. Self-starter and
ability to handle multiple tasks under deadline - Excellent
knowledge of oral and written English. Ngakarimojong and/or Swahili will
be an added advantage.
