Alliance (ULA)
Director
Land Alliance is a consortium of International and National NGO’s and
Individuals focusing on land, promotion of land rights and protecting the interests
of the poor, vulnerable and marginalized through “Enhancing civic
participation in land governance and resource management country wide.”
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that
ULA develops and maintains its capacity to respond to Land Issues - Identify
areas of research required to inform programming and promote
learning, influence and impact. - Ensure that
programming meets high standards in design, monitoring and
evaluation through ULA’s Program Cycle Management Systems (PCMS) - Improve ULA
capacity at capturing programme impacts through improved base line and
M&E information, approaches and analysis. - Support the
programme managers in programme design, providing technical guidance at
all stages of the PCMS; from assessment, project concept note development
and proposal development support. - Ensure proper
documentation and record keeping for all programs run by the organisation.
Ensure that cross cutting issues – HIV&AIDS, Gender and
Environment are mainstreamed into all programme activities;
Experience:
- The applicant
should hold a university Degree in the humanities. A Masters Degree in
Development studies, Social Sciences or a post graduate Diploma in Project
planning and management, management, or an equivalent is an added
advantage. - At least five
years experience in similar or related senior management positions - Experience of
program design, development, management and participatory planning
methodologies desirable. - Experience in
team building and staff capacity building - Experience in
project delivery and accountability mechanisms - Knowledge in
computer packages is a must Strong networking, team work and management
skills - Ability to
work under pressure in diverse environments - Ability to
represent and articulate the organization’s philosophy at various fora - At least 3
years experience in monitoring and evaluation of advocacy projects - Demonstrable
effective written communications skills including the ability to prepare
reports, proposals, policies and procedures - Effective public
relations and public speaking skills - Research and
program development skills
